Why would I use your site instead of just phoning my mate's instructor?

We want to make our site as good as it can be so this question is never asked again. With The Drive Gurus you can discover many instructors that are based near you. Also the chances are if they are based near you then you will both know the roads around you well, enhancing the quality of lesson they are able to offer. Also before you pick any instructor you can read any available reviews of their lessons on their profile. Then you can make an informed decision.

How much does it cost to use The Drive Gurus?

We charge nothing to our learners, for our instructors we charge £5 per month. We feel it is important to ensure that our service is affordable for all and doesn’t affect the price of lessons. For lessons booked through the site we charge a 10% commission to the instructors. For more information please view our Pricing page.

Do you vet the instructors on the website?

All of the instructors on our site must be registered instructors or, where relevant, qualified to teach the skills they are advertising on the site. We also encourage all of the instructors to obtain a CRB check that can be view upon request by any learners should they wish to do so.

Why are there no instructors in my area?

Simply because none have signed up from your area. There are a couple of steps you can take. Firstly, try broadening your search radius. Secondly, if that is no help, then contact us directly and we can double our efforts in that region to help bring the instructors onto our site.

For Learners

I have contacted a driving instructor and they have not replied. Why?

Often the instructors can be very busy so give them time to reply. If they have not replied within 36 hours then contact us and we can make extra efforts on your behalf. We want the instructors on here to engage promptly with all learner enquiries.

The Instructor didn't turn up for my booking. What can I do?

Firstly, let us know what the details of the booking arrangement were and we can investigate. Once further details are established, we can help decide on the correct outcome. Of course if the instructor has purely forgotten or double booked their time then you will receive a full refund. If the instructor refuses to engage in constructive dialogue then you will also receive a full refund but please bear with us as we aim to achieve the fairest outcome for all.

What should I look for in an Instructor?

Exactly what defines a good instructor will vary from person to person but it is important to check the reviews instructors before booking. These reviews are from genuine learners. Also ensure you speak to your instructor before you book any lessons and ensure they are the right fit for you. Explain what you want to achieve and see if their ethos fits your aims.

My payment didn't go through. Is there something wrong with the site?

Whilst we make every effort to ensure the site is fully operational at all times, there may be periods of unexpected down time. If you have made a payment during this time and are unsure if it has been processed then contact us and we will be able to confirm for you.

For Instructors

The site is new, do you offer a free trial?

To celebrate the launch of The Drive Gurus we will be offering a free period for instructors for the rest of 2019. This will end on 1st January 2020. If lessons are booked via the site during this period, the commission rate will still apply.

How much does it cost to use The Drive Gurus?

This depends on the package that you have. Our basic package is £5 per month and the featured package is £10 per month.

If you decide you wish to sell your lessons via the site then we also charge a 10% commission on those bookings. Whether you decide to pass this on to the customer is a decision for you to make.

The learner didn't show up for lesson. What should I do?

The Learner was abusive and I don't want to teach them anymore. What can I do?

At The Drive Gurus we want everyone who uses our service to feel entirely safe and secure. This goes for learners and instructors. We will take any complaint seriously. Our advice would be to stop lessons immediately and ensure you write everything down as soon as possible. If at any time you feel your safety is in immediate danger then call the police. If you let us know of any complaints you wish to make then we can take appropriate action and will support in any way we can.

Why are there no Learners in my area?

Simply because none have signed up from your area. There will be people near you looking to learn these skills so we will double our efforts to encourage them to use our site. Also review your own profile to see if it looks ad friendly and approachable as it should. Consider improve the text or expanding the services you offer. Let us know of any issues you have and we will try to assist.
